Franklin High School is home to a diverse array of clubs, offering students countless opportunities to explore their passions and interests inside and outside the classroom. Each August and September, the school hosts its annual Club Rush, where clubs showcase their activities and welcome new and returning members. Here is a list of just some of the clubs offered here at FHS.
AVID Club
The club advisor is Jennifer Brown, and the student president is Julia Varela.
The club meets every Monday during lunch in room C113
The club’s goals are to increase opportunity knowledge surrounding college and AVID
Art Club
The club advisor is Alexis Ortega
The club meets every other Friday after school in A120
The goal of Art Club is to foster inspiration and talent through the school’s artistic community
Bible Club
The club advisor is Jermey Yee, and the student president is Erika Romero Cortes.
The club meets every Friday in S3 during lunch.
The club’s mission is to create a safe space for students to practice and grow in their faith in Jesus.
Black Student Union (BSU)
The club advisor is Omar Stewart
The club meets every Wednesday during lunch in C113
The club promotes cultural diversity and peaceful coexistence among our African American students through academics, community service, etc. BSU is all-inclusive.
Brown Issues Club
The club advisor is Marco Rojas, and the president is Mauricio Diaz
The club meets every Monday at lunch in A211
The club cultivates young leaders through civil engagement, healing, and narrative change.
Drama Club
The club president is Leighanna McCoy, and the two advisors are Claudette Vaughn and Patrica Carter.
The club meets every Tuesday and every other Thursday after school in the media center and on Friday in the dance room.
The club’s goal is to put on student plays and promote inclusivity.
E-Sports Club
The club advisor is Fortino Tafoya and the student president is Elvin Yang
The club meets every Tuesday after school in C211
The club’s goal is to introduce gamers all around the school to a carefree and friendly environment where everyone is welcome.
Journalism Club
The club advisor is Lydia Sarraille and the president of the club is Kimberly Sanchez
The club meets every Tuesday during lunch in C102
The club’s mission is to give all students the opportunity to contribute to the student publication, The Buzz.
Pride Club (formerly the gay-straight Alliance or GSA)
The club advisor is Jennifer Dawning and the student president is Ruby Faihtinger
The club meets every Tuesday during lunch in A104
The mission is to create a safe space for LGBTQ and non-LGBTQ students on campus and build community.
SkillsUSA Club
The club advisors are Rick Sanchez and David Tayco
They meet in C201 every Tuesday during lunch
This club is open to all Career Technical Education (CTE) students.
Social Impact Club
The club advisors are all the Freshmen counselors and the student president is Yasmine Esquer
They meet every other Tuesday during lunch in C107
Their goal is to promote acts of service and community building among students.
