Franklin High School students usually use the Stockton Portal website to access classes and other educational programs. However, they may have not noticed some of the additional resources offered such as COMPASS , a program created by California’s State Library and funded by the state that gives K- 12 students resources that can help them succeed in school.
COMPASS offers live tutoring in many subjects like, math, history, English, and many more. These subjects are offered in different languages, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Mandarin. This is a live 24/7 service and it is completely free for any student to use anytime, the tutoring provides tools such as a chat, a whiteboard, and even audio options to help students.
Additionally, if you have a library card you may get access to other resources in the writing lab; you just need to upload your work, from essays to creative writing, and real tutors give you detailed feedback. Not sure how to start or have a specific question? Just ask them, You can even review past sessions to see your progress and message tutors directly.
The program also grants access to articles, ebooks, videos, and more on all sorts of subjects, like science, history, and even the arts. Plus, there are tools to help students with research and critical thinking. Some of the resources even include streamings of operas and plays. Some websites linked by COMPASS are Britannica, ProQuest, Gale, and PebbleGo.
This program is absolutely free for schools and libraries, and it’s a great way for students to get extra help with their homework or just explore new topics they’re interested in.
