The Franklin High School Concert Band participated in the World Strides Instrumental Music Festival at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
The festival is billed as an educational performance program allowing student bands and orchestras to perform on the iconic New York City stage and take part in workshops with nationally recognized adjudicators.
The participating band students were accompanied by their band instructor, Jacqueline Hairston, along with several FHS staff members and administrators who acted as chaperones.
FHS band students were given the opportunity to see some of the sights in New York while on the trip, including Times Square and the Empire State Building.
