The Franklin High School International Baccalaureate program hosted an art gala event this past Friday featuring a collection of student artwork for sale and entertainment in the form of musical performances. The purpose of the event was to raise funds for the IB Club while celebrating the creativity and skill of FHS students.
The gala showcased a variety of art forms, including digital art, paintings, and illustrations created by FHS students. In addition, musical artists and performers took to the stage, adding to the event’s entertainment.
Awards were given to students for their work, including Alexandria Brockway in first place, Carmen “Janae” Jones in second, and Kianna “Z” Rivas in third. An honorable mention was awarded to Britany Angeles.
The event was open submission, meaning all FHS students were able to submit their artwork to the gala by scanning a QR code. This inclusive approach was intended to ensure that all students could participate and share their talents.
The gala was open to students during the school day and teachers were encouraged to sign their classes up for a time slot to visit and explore the artwork. From 4:30 to 6:30 pm, the gala was open to the public, which provided a chance for families and community members to experience the event as well.
