Mobile Farmer’s Market Provides FHS Families with Food During Difficult Times

The rising cost of groceries has made it harder for families to afford food. The Mobile Farmers’ Market at Franklin High School was begun in response to this need in the fall of 2023. This year it continues to help communities access food at no cost. The Mobile Farmers’ Market is targeted at FHS students and their families, other SUSD schools, and San Joaquin County overall.

According to Eileen Zamora, the Mobile Farmers’ Market has received “massive support” from FHS leadership students, paraprofessionals, and the maintenance custodian Roy.

Zamora also reached out to the emergency food bank to help with resources for Mobile Farmers’ Market events.

Mobile Farmers’ Market events are advertised on the FHS website to help spread the word and reach those in need in our community.

Mobile Farmers’ Market will host another event in the fall of 2024 and hopes to continue to provide no-cost food essentials for SUSD families.
